Budhaka Beach

Budhaka Beach is a small, peaceful, and exceptionally beautiful sandy beach located in the Budhaka locality, immediately south of the larger Harmanite Beach and about 2 km south of the centre of Sozopol, in Sozopol Municipality, Burgas Region. The beach lies at the beginning of the Budhaka Peninsula — the southernmost part of the wider Sozopol area, where the peninsula's three capes extend into the sea and which also encompasses Cape Kolokita, Cape Agalina, and the Kavatsite camping area. The Budhaka locality itself is often compared in popular discourse to Beverly Hills, owing to the luxury villas, hotels, and private residences perched dramatically on the rocky coastal cliffs — the combination of spectacular scenery and high-end real estate making it one of the most exclusive residential and resort zones on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Budhaka Beach is covered with soft, clean, fine sand and is characterised by shallow, calm, azure water with a smooth sandy bottom free of hazards such as holes, eddies, or undercurrents — qualities that make it one of the most suitable beaches on the southern Bulgarian coast for families with small children. It is guarded by professional lifeguards during the summer season and is served by several restaurants and cafés in the immediate surroundings. Owing to its location in the relative seclusion of the villa zone yet within easy reach of Sozopol, the beach combines quiet and privacy with proximity to the full range of the town's cultural and culinary offer. The beach faces the beautiful St Peter and St Ivan islands visible in the Sozopol Bay. Access to parts of the Budhaka Peninsula is a recurring subject of public debate, as some sections of the coastline near the luxury resort complexes have been reported as accessible only through private property, while the Rayskiya Zaliv ("Paradise Bay") and the area known as the Green Barracks are the two principal publicly accessible beach spots within the broader Budhaka area.
