    Amphitheater Sozopol

The Amphitheatre of Sozopol is an open-air performance venue located in the immediate vicinity of the Municipal Park "Sveta Marina" in the town of Sozopol, in Sozopol Municipality, Burgas Region, with an address at 6 Han Krum Square. It was officially opened on 30 April 2015, having been constructed under the Operational Programme for the Development of the Fisheries Sector, through the Local Action Group "Primorsko – Sozopol – Tsarevo." The amphitheatre has a capacity of 390 seats, with the rows separated by pathways paved in natural irregular stone slabs that allow comfortable movement between the seating levels. A new children's playground and outdoor sports and recreation facilities were built in close proximity to the amphitheatre as part of the same project. The amphitheatre is the primary outdoor stage for the Apollonia Arts Festival — one of the oldest and most prestigious arts festivals in Bulgaria, held annually in late August and early September since 1984 — and serves as the setting for concerts, theatrical performances, literary readings, puppet theatre, photography exhibitions, and other cultural events that draw artists and visitors from across the country and beyond. The Apollonia festival has made the Sozopol amphitheatre a name familiar to the entire Bulgarian cultural world, and the combination of the stage, the surrounding park, and the proximity of the sea creates a performance setting of particular atmospheric charm. The venue is accessible directly from the park paths and is open to visitors year-round.
