    Central Synagogue

    The Sofia Synagogue is one of the largest and most impressive synagogues in Europe and a significant cultural and religious landmark of the Bulgarian capital. Opened in 1909, the building was designed in Moorish Revival style, featuring an ornate façade, richly decorated interior and a monumental central chandelier. The synagogue serves as the main house of worship for Sofia’s Jewish community and also houses the Jewish History Museum.
