The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is one of the most iconic landmarks of Sofia and a symbol of Bulgaria’s capital. Built in the early 20th century, the cathedral is dedicated to Saint Alexander Nevsky and serves as a memorial to the Russian soldiers who died during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878. The temple impresses with its monumental Neo-Byzantine architecture, golden domes, rich interior decoration, and valuable icons. Today, it is an active Orthodox cathedral and one of the most visited cultural and historical sites in Bulgaria.
