The Rotunda of St. George is the oldest preserved building in Sofia, dating back to the 4th century. It is an outstanding example of early Christian architecture and is renowned for its valuable medieval frescoes from several historical periods. Located in the very center of the city, the rotunda has served different functions over the centuries, including as a church and a mosque. Today, it is an active Orthodox church and one of the most important historical and cultural landmarks of the capital.
