The Family Coffee Roasters
The Family Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee shop and in-house roastery in central Plovdiv, at Rayko Daskalov Street 54–55, just past the Main Street in the pedestrian zone — a reliable pick for anyone serious about what's in their cup. The concept is straightforward but rare: freshly roasted coffee from around the world, bought green from genuinely small farms in small batches, roasted on-site on a Turkish-made Toper roaster (light to medium roast), and served either as espresso or through a dedicated brew bar with pour-over options. Only certified high-quality Arabica makes it through, with a rotating lineup that currently features single origins from Ethiopia, Colombia (including lychee-processed and other co-fermented lots), and Costa Rica, alongside their own house espresso blend. Non-dairy options (oat, almond, soy) are part of the standard offer. Beyond coffee, there's a small menu of breakfast and brunch items, muffins, banana bread and chocolate croissants — enough to turn a quick stop into a proper morning. The space itself is warm and carefully styled, with ambient background music, a terrace outside, and a consistent 4.7–5.0 rating across TripAdvisor and Google. The team is also known for actually enjoying talking coffee with guests, including explaining brewing methods and co-fermentation. Whole beans and brewing equipment are sold on-site for taking home. A natural pick for a thoughtful coffee break, a laptop-friendly work session, or for anyone who wants to understand what specialty coffee in Plovdiv looks like at its best.
