Green Library
The Green Library (Зелена Библиотека) is an unconventional café, bar, and health-food spot tucked into the heart of Plovdiv's Kapana district, at Pavel Kurtevich Street 1 — right in the middle of the city's creative-and-craft neighborhood, just a few minutes from the Old Town. The concept is genuinely its own: a bio bar, raw-food kitchen, juice counter, and health-food shop rolled into one, backed by the owners' own clean-farming production on a plot about 20 kilometers from Plovdiv (no pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers, no chemistry) and by one of the founders' certification as a nutritionist. The menu leans vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free, with Buddha bowls, homemade toasts, salads, raw desserts made without sugar or flour, authorial cakes, and Fresh AID cold-pressed juices; meat dishes and wine have quietly made their way onto the menu as well. The "library" part of the name is literal — shelves of books on healthier living and eating sit alongside the tables, and packaged organic products are sold at the front. A natural pick for a light breakfast, brunch, weekday lunch, or a coffee-and-cake break for anyone in Plovdiv who's vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or just looking for something lighter than the usual Bulgarian restaurant fare.
