Miden Beach (Mussel Beach)
Miden Beach (Mussel Beach) is a small, wild, and peaceful beach located between the village of Lozenets and the town of Tsarevo, in Tsarevo Municipality, Burgas Region, on the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. It takes its name from the abundance of mussels on and around the beach — a characteristic that sets it apart from the sandy beaches in the wider Lozenets area, as no river or stream flows into the sea here to bring river sand from the mountains, and the seabed and shoreline are naturally rich in shells and molluscs. The beach has a shoreline of approximately 175 metres and is backed by characteristic Strandzha rocky cliffs. Free parking is available in the immediate vicinity, shared with the nearby Rampata beach. The left portion of the beach — approximately 2,139 sq m — is periodically let under a concession agreement and has a single lifeguard post during the active season (1 July – 31 August); the remainder is unguarded and operates under a free regime. The beach is well known to guests of the hotels, villas, bungalows, and campsites in the surrounding area and offers a calm and uncommercialised alternative to the more organised and busy beaches of Lozenets. Access: From Tsarevo, take the inner road towards Lozenets (from Ulitsa Preobrazhenska, not from the Burgas junction). Pass the turn-offs for the Popski beaches and the Arapya Bay beaches on the right; the road to the beach is the highest point of the climb by car — turn right towards the sea there. Free parking is available at the junction.
