    Mechata Dupka Beach

Mechata Dupka Beach (Bear's Hole Beach) is a small, secluded, and exceptionally beautiful beach located between the Central Beach of the village of Lozenets and the Coral Camping beach, in Tsarevo Municipality, Burgas Region, on the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The beach is approximately 120 metres long and 25 metres wide, set in a naturally sheltered bay protected from northern winds. Immediately adjacent to it lies a second, even smaller beach of about 60 metres, though its seabed is more rocky. The beach takes its name from a cave in the nearby cliffs — also called Mechata Dupka — whose name was given long ago by old fishermen who caught a pair of seals (known in Bulgarian as "sea bears") in their nets at this spot. Today the bears' holes in the rock still exist, but the seals are long gone — yet the beach, in full contrast with its somewhat gloomy-sounding name, is sunny, clean, and serene. The bay is renowned for its uniquely crystal-clear water, with a gently sloping sandy bottom entirely free of underwater holes, currents, or hazards — qualities that make it one of the most suitable spots on the Bulgarian Black Sea for families with babies and very small children. Motorised water sports are absent here, contributing to the calm. The beach has no paid sunbed zones — visitors are free to find their own spot anywhere along the shore. A small fast-food outlet, a medical point, and toilets are available on site. The beach is also popular with spearfishing enthusiasts. Despite being only 1,400 metres from the centre of Lozenets, the beach is tucked away and little known to first-time visitors to the village — a detail that preserves its quiet, boutique character even at the height of summer.
