    The National Art Gallery

    The National Gallery, established in 1948, is the largest art museum in Bulgaria, housing over 41,000 works of painting, sculpture, graphic arts, decorative arts, and contemporary art. It features the richest collection of Christian art from the Bulgarian lands (4th–19th century), some of the finest works by Bulgarian masters from the Revival period to the present day, notable examples of European art (15th–20th century), and unique pieces from Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
