The Architects' Club
The Architects' Club (Klub na Arkhitekta) is an elegant restaurant-garden with a long history and well-established character, located in one of the most beautiful old buildings in central Sofia, at 11 Krakra Street, in the Oborischte quarter, Sofia Municipality. For over 18 years the restaurant has been creating a culinary experience built with care, consistency, and attention to detail. The building's interior is notable for its glazed pavilion with abundant greenery — both inside and in the small internal patio — and a floor of fine Spanish clinker tiles with decorative lemon-patterned friezes on the stair risings; the exterior features decorative custom-made garden tiles and a wall executed in sgraffito technique — distinguished examples of 1980s architectural design. The spaces — a winter garden, a basement, and a summer garden — contribute to an atmosphere of quiet and discreet elegance that sets the club apart from more fashionable but noisier venues in the city centre. The restaurant accommodates 30 guests indoors and 40 in the garden. The menu offers balanced flavours, classical dishes, and seasonal produce, presented without unnecessary ostentation. Schnitzels are a particular strength of the kitchen — thin, tender, and consistently well prepared. The wine list focuses primarily on Bulgarian wines. Service is described by regular visitors as professional, unobtrusive, and attentive, with well-informed recommendations. The Architects' Club is suitable for business meetings, family gatherings, romantic dinners, birthdays, and name-day celebrations. It is considered a reliable, timeless choice in the centre of Sofia — a restaurant, as one food guide puts it, with which you can never go wrong.
