Shtastlivetsa Restaurant - Vitoshka
Shtastliveca ("The Happy One") on Vitosha Boulevard is the Sofia outpost of a well-known Bulgarian restaurant chain that began in Veliko Tarnovo. Set at 27 Vitosha Boulevard, between Denkoglu and Solunska streets, it occupies a prime spot on the city's main pedestrian strip, a short walk from St. Nedelya Square and the Palace of Justice. The name is a nod to Aleko Konstantinov — the Bulgarian writer nicknamed "Shtastliveca" — and the interior follows the group's signature "shabby chic" and vintage style, echoing the feel of a 1930s European home. The menu is broad, with a strong focus on Bulgarian and European dishes, presented in a photo-album format that changes seasonally. Inside the restaurant can seat around 100 guests across two rooms, and the summer garden adds another 80-plus spots — useful for bigger groups, family gatherings, or a longer dinner with friends. A solid choice for traditional comfort food in a central, atmospheric setting.
