OPA Greek Restaurant
OPA Greek Restaurant on Vitosha is a Greek spot right on Sofia's main pedestrian boulevard, at 21 Vitosha Boulevard, on the ground floor of Le Fleur boutique hotel. The concept is a piece of Greece in the middle of the city — Mediterranean cooking, Greek music, ouzo, and the familiar shouts of "OPA!" that give the place its name. The menu covers the essentials: fresh fish and seafood, grilled octopus, shrimp in garlic olive oil, moussaka and other classics, alongside risotto with mussels and lemon, slow-cooked veal cheeks, and a generous grill section with ribeye steak, sausages, pork ribs, and souvlaki. There's also homemade ice cream and a short list of desserts that run from strawberry-mascarpone mousse and pistachio crème brûlée to Garash cake and tiramisu. With about 120 seats, a terrace facing the boulevard, and a lively atmosphere, it works well for a long dinner with friends, a date, or a celebratory meal — and the location is hard to beat if you're already walking along Vitoshka.
