Galeria Arteria

Galeria Arteria is a ceramics studio and small art gallery on Georgi Benkovski Street 51, in the Oborishte district of central Sofia. The concept blends two things — hands-on ceramic workshops and a curated space for Bulgarian art and wine. Visitors can take part in group sessions to make their own cup, plate, or other piece, either by hand from a ball of clay or on a pottery wheel, then return later to pick up the finished item after it's been glazed and fired twice. The studio works equally well for adults and kids, and is a popular pick for birthdays, hen parties, team-building events, or a relaxed evening out. Sessions are often paired with a glass of wine from Bulgarian family winery Orbelia in the foothills of Belasitsa Mountain, and the gallery also sells works by Bulgarian artists and a small selection of bottled wines. A good choice if you're looking for something more creative — and more memorable — than a standard night out in the city center.
