Da Massimo
Da Massimo is a family-run Italian restaurant tucked away on Aleksandar Pushkin Street 106 in Sofia's Boyana neighborhood, set against the backdrop of Vitosha Mountain. The kitchen focuses on the traditional cuisines of Umbria and Tuscany, with ingredients brought in directly from Italy — from carefully selected cured meats and cheeses to fresh pasta, meat and fish dishes, and seasonal vegetables. The menu changes daily, and there's a separate daily lunch offering alongside the à la carte list. The space is warm and unpretentious, suited equally to a long weekend lunch, a family dinner, or a quieter date, and in the summer months you can also eat outside. A good pick if you're already out in Boyana — near the Boyana Church or the National Museum of History — and want something that feels closer to a meal in an Italian home than to a standard city-center pasta spot.
