House-Museum Mirkovich
The “Mirkovich House” is a cultural monument of National significance and part of the “Dimitar Dobrovich” Art Gallery in Sliven. Built in the 19th century by craftsmen from Tryavna, its unique atmosphere ranks it among the finest examples of urban architecture from the period of the Bulgarian National Revival. Combining the achievements of the applied arts — magnificent carved wooden ceilings, capitals, and built-in cupboards — with remarkable architectural design, it stands as an outstanding example of harmony between structure and form, aesthetic expression, and refined artistic sensibility. The “Mirkovich House” was built by the notable Sliven family Mirkovich, whose members included prominent Revival-era figures in the struggle for ecclesiastical and national independence: the brothers Ruscho Mirkovich and Dr. Georgi Mirkovich.
