Grand Hotel Pomorie - Medical spa
Grand Hotel Pomorie – Medical Spa is a five-star year-round medical spa and wellness hotel located at 5 Professor Stoyanov Street, in the northeastern part of the town of Pomorie, Pomorie Municipality, Burgas Region — on a unique narrow strip of land between the shores of the Black Sea and the Pomorie Salt Lake, 50 metres from the sandy beach, 1 km from the centre of Pomorie, 10 km from Burgas Airport (Sarafovo), and 23 km from Sunny Beach. The hotel is a seven-storey complex with 178 rooms and 6 lifts, partially renovated in 2020, and represents a unique combination of a hotel complex, a medical rehabilitation and wellness centre, a football stadium, and a sports hall. It is one of the most comprehensive and highest-rated spa hotels in Bulgaria, with guests consistently describing it as one of the best hotels in the country. Pets are not allowed. All 178 rooms and suites offer balconies with sea or lake views, IPTV, air conditioning, a seating area, a desk, a mini-bar, a safety deposit box, bathrobes, slippers, and a private bathroom with shower or bathtub. Three outdoor pools (including a children's pool) and a seasonal beach bar with sunbeds and umbrellas complete the outdoor offer. A tennis court, a fitness centre, and sports facilities including a football stadium and sports hall are also available. The Medical Spa Centre, covering over 3,000 square metres and fully renovated in 2020, is the defining feature of the hotel and one of the finest in Bulgaria. It is situated on two floors with an indoor section and a garden with outdoor pools, and offers a holistic approach combining pleasant relaxing spa treatments with professional medical treatment and prevention. The centrepiece of the medical offer is the mud treatment sector — 18 individual mud treatment cabins to which therapeutic mud is delivered directly from the Pomorie Salt Lake through a purpose-built mud transport system, ensuring that the healing properties of the mud are fully preserved (mud loses half of its properties within 24 hours of contact with oxygen). The indoor salt-mineral pool uses water drawn directly from the lake and is available year-round (subject to scheduled maintenance days). Additional spa facilities include a Finnish sauna, steam bath, Turkish bath (hammam), jacuzzi, adventure shower, solarium, massage rooms, and treatments by GUINOT-trained beauticians. The medical centre, under the direct management of Dr Stefan Shishkov — one of Bulgaria's most distinguished specialists in physical medicine, rehabilitation, and balneology — provides physiotherapy, electrotherapy, magnetic therapy, ultrasound, and high-frequency current treatments for diseases of the musculoskeletal system, peripheral nervous system, and skin. The hotel also contracts with the National Health Insurance Fund (NZOK) and the National Social Security Institute (NOI) for rehabilitation services. The dining offer includes a main restaurant with rich buffet breakfast and dinner, an à la carte option, a lobby bar, and a seasonal beach bar.
