Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis
The Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis is one of the most significant early Christian monuments in Bulgaria and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dating back to the 4th–6th century, the basilica is renowned for its stunning floor mosaics, featuring over 2,000 sq. m of intricate bird and geometric motifs. The modern museum building showcases two mosaic levels, interactive exhibits, and a remarkable reconstruction of the ancient space, offering a vivid look into the spiritual and artistic heritage of ancient Philippopolis.
