    Lake Atanasovsko

    Atanasovsko Lake is a protected natural area near Burgas and one of the most important wetlands in Bulgaria. The lake is famous for its rich biodiversity and is a key habitat for hundreds of bird species, many of them rare and endangered. It is also part of the Via Pontica migratory route and an important site for birdwatching. Known for its pink salt pans and healing mud, Atanasovsko Lake combines nature conservation, traditional salt production, and ecological tourism.
